CINDY BILOTTI

For as long as I can remember I have been drawing and painting. In college I studied architecture. It was from this training that I learned the formal aspects of design. I graduated having majored in architecture and minored in art history.

I continued to draw and paint while working in the architecture profession. After moving to the east coast I shifted my focus to the arts full time by working in a gallery and painting.

As a painter I have pursued a nontraditional approach to my education. I have studied at various schools and with various artists. I like to play with shape, color, texture, value, form and line. I let the pieces evolve out of the creative process. I paint, draw, glue, cut, scrape, and sand. I will pause to review what has happened then paint some more. I like to work in series. Many times I will work with different mediums within a series.

My studio is in my home. This allows the process to be more immediate and connected to the everyday rhythms of my life. I share this home in the pacific northwest with my husband, two children, a cat and three chickens.
